To help achieve the climate objectives of the Paris Agreement, key infrastructure projects that link the energy systems of EU countries are identified biannually as Projects of Common Interest (PCI). Ramboll has recently partnered with Ecorys to complete a project for the European Commission, focused on further developing a methodology and application template for PCI selection, evaluating the social cost of CO2 emissions and selecting PCI candidates.
Ramboll has analysed Poland’s foundation of becoming a well-functioning gas hub, serving as a central gas trading nation to the East Baltic region and CEE countries. The report, commissioned by Shell, sheds light on the competitive situation on the Polish gas market and highlights what could be done for Poland to become the gas hub in the region.
Ramboll assessed a number of formerly prepared concept alternatives of LNG import, reviewed the Klaipeda harbour location and vicinity, and derived a project proposal based on the use of floating storage and regasification of LNG.
Ramboll performed a study to evaluate the technical pre-feasibility of an LNG plant at Stigsnæs Gulfhavn Oil Terminal. The study comprised a feasibility evaluation of the terminal together with cost estimation, and a 3D visualisation of the terminal layouts.
Ramboll will support Energinet with contributing to a gas transmission pipeline for the Baltic Pipe together with ILF Consulting Engineers. Ramboll will provide consultancy and design services of the onshore pipelines in Jutland and Funen, Denmark, and detailed design of all of its line valve stations.

For several years, Ramboll had assisted Gasum Oy with their plan of constructing a terminal for LNG import to the South coast of Finland. Following the feasibility study Ramboll was awarded a contract for project management services that focused on the critical tasks of the project.
