This '60s building was redeveloped to create efficient modern office space.
In introducing air conditioning, we overcame the problem of deep downstand beams in the retained structure by integrating the vertical services distribution in the new cladding.
We designed a second system for public spaces in the adjoining building, added new plant rooms, Building Management and Lighting Management systems, and also relocated an existing sub-station.
We worked closely with the services contractor on detail design, which featured the innovative use of modular wiring systems and prefabricated plant items. This pattern of working proved highly efficient and reduced approval times.
