Ramboll provided complete engineering services for topside and pipeline structures in the Gulf of Mexico.

The High Island field is an oil and gas field located offshore Texas in the Gulf of Mexico. The field is surrounded by a number of producing fields and associated oil and gas infrastructure.

In 1996, American oil and gas company, Burlington Resources, planned for the construction of a four-legged drilling and production platform to be situated in block 371, at 400 ft. / 122m of water. The project also included five miles / eight km of 10'' diameter pipeline.

Excel Engineering (now Ramboll) provided complete engineering services for topside and pipeline. Disciplines involved were structural and facilities engineering (process, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation). The project was completed successfully within tight budget and schedule constraints.

Production rates were estimated at 130 MMSCFD gas, 2,000 BPD condensate and 5,000 BPD water.

The project later on became the subject of a paper presented in Aberdeen, Scotland regarding reduction of UK project costs via transfer of successful Gulf technology.

Burlington Resources was acquired by ConocoPhillips in 2006.
