We designed the exterior sliding shutters in anodized aluminum for the FIH Domicile (now PensionDanmark) in collaboration with 3XN.
Located at the end of Langelinie Quay in Copenhagen, the building has received widespread recognition among architects because the characteristic sliding shutters constantly vary the architectural expression of the building during the day, as they follow the sun and provide dynamic solar shading.
Furthermore, they are the only sliding shutters in the world, where the same electric motor drives both the frames and the tilting slats. The simple yet robust drive system is integrated into the external façade, which makes it easy to keep in repair.
