The new cruise-line terminal in Copenhagen Harbour requires the construction of 900 meters of new quay, access roads, Ro-Ro container rental, as well as construction of the terminal structures themselves. At the same time care must be taken with existing harbour access and associated markers.
Ramboll has collaborated closely with Copenhagen Harbour A/S, bearing the responsibility for modelling and evaluation of coastal hydraulic conditions, simulations and evaluation of navigation conditions, simulations of vessel movement and mooring conditions, assessment of soil conditions and execution of geotechnical investigations.
Finally, Ramboll has been responsible for formulating the project’s conceptual and project design basis.
The preliminary investigations led to the recommendation of revising the location of the fairway. This was to ensure acceptable ship movements for vessels at berth.
The new cruise terminal was inaugurated in 2014.
