Grundfos electronic production facilities in Bjerringbro were originally established at an older Grundfos production site from about 1950 – Grundfos S1. Due to increased demands regarding indoor climate conditions, space requirements and logistics in general the production site needed to be moved. The existing production site N2 built in 1976 was chosen.
The work included a major refurbishing and rebuilding of the existing N2 site including massive investments in installations and the building envelope in order to ensure adequate indoor climate conditions amongst others. Thus the project involved all engineering services as well as architectural services delivered by Ramboll. Grundfos, however, delivered interior architectural design themselves.
The project was executed in three major stages next to an ongoing production in the same hall. Due to high focus on setting all plants and installations into operation in due time, the customer took over a site that performed according to all design parameters. The project in numbers:
- Approximately 3.700 m2
- Administration facilities, 9.000 m2
- Production facilities and 4.800 m2
- External areas (parking space, fire access road, container and gas storage area etc.)
Value added for the customer
The production site was completed on time and the building performed according to designed values from day one.
