The Drobeta Turnu Severin Road is part of Romanian National Highway No. 6, and an important link between Romania and Serbia and Western Europe. This project consists of repairs and construction over around 180km of road.
The Romanian National Company of Motorways and National Roads is responsible for the project. It comprises the repair of the present road, and the construction of new bypasses around the towns Drobeta-Turnu Severin, Plugove, Domasnea and Caransebes. This totals around 180 km of road, of which around 30 km is road in new alignment.
The project is divided into six sections, one of which has not yet reached the final design phase. Our responsibilities therefore include tendering and contract assistance for this one section, and construction management services for all.
The project is a joint venture with IC consultenten Ziviltechniker GesmbH, Austria, with Concept, Poyry Romania and Ramboll Romania as sub-consultants.
The project includes tendering and contracting assistance to the RNCMNR, covering a total of six work sites. Ramboll will also be responsible for construction management and supervision of all works.
Training of all staff working within contract management, road construction supervision and traffic safety is included in the service. In addition, a full quality assurance system is to be set up and implemented for the duration of the project.
