With seven projects in the public vote, and over 3,000 votes cast so far, the Londonist People's Choice Award demonstrates the fantastic and exciting schemes that London-based engineering companies are delivering every day to improve the lives of millions of the Capital's residents and businesses. When voting closes on 1st May the project with the most public votes will win.
If you take a look at the contenders before casting your vote here, you’ll see two Ramboll projects on the list that we are rooting for!
Two voters will be randomly selected to get tickets to the awards ceremony in London on 25 May, and ICE's first ‘Engineering Late’ event in November
The Awards celebrate new infrastructure projects that have raised the bar for innovation, health and safety, community benefit, construction or design.
Rebuilding a vital section of the Thameslink rail line at Bermondsey Dive Under included track and infrastructure work, with sustainability and urban regeneration aspects. Value engineering and detailed design by Ramboll, in collaboration with main contractor, Skanska, and Network Rail, delivered significant cost benefits.
Custom House Station is one of the 10 new stations in London for the Elizabeth line that was opened on the 24 May 2022. It is the only above-ground station on the line, which is positioned on a tightly constrained site. The new station is predominantly constructed in pre-cast concrete elements, where Ramboll supported the design in enhancing its buildability and project managed the contractor's design team, overseeing 12 separate design disciplines.
