NCE100 logo - Companies of the Year 2016
NCE100 Company of the Year awards are brand new for 2016 and seek to recognise firms that are leading the way in areas that are critical to delivering for clients and making engineering workplaces a great place to be.
The top 100 firms were drawn from the entire industry supply chain and were assessed against their approaches to technical excellence; pushing technology; being diverse and great and safe places to work; developing future-fit skills; and playing a role in tackling global issues.
Our selection process began with an employer survey about Ramboll and its culture. This was followed by a survey of employees to find out what it means to work for Ramboll. The answers to these surveys were scored and weighted by an independent third party and used to create shortlists for 10 award categories and also to build the NCE 100 list of top firms.
Ramboll was shortlisted for four NCE100 awards and our finalists faced a rigorous face-to-face interview with a panel of judges made up of clients, contractors and consultants to showcase excellence in these specific areas:
All firms making the NCE100 were praised as exemplary, and the judges were extremely impressed with the calibre of the shortlisted companies and stressed that all entrants scored very highly.
In the Technical Excellence award presentations to judges, Ramboll stood out for innovations on the Phase 2 strengthening of Hammersmith Flyover in London. More >
New Civil Engineer editor Mark Hansford commented: “These are the companies that we believe you will want to work for and work with. These are the companies who are moving the industry forward and making it great. … Above all else this isn’t a top 100 based on money earned, or staff employed. We’ve been there, done that, and don’t like it. This is our selection of the top 100 firms in civil engineering based on the cultures, competencies and skillsets that we at New Civil Engineer passionately believe matter most.”
