Ramboll celebrate International Women's Day
Established in 1910 at the second International Conference of Working Women in Copenhagen, International Women's Day (IWD) is all about unity, celebration, reflection, advocacy and action. Celebrated on March 8 since 1913, IWD belongs to all communities everywhere - governments, companies, charities, educational institutions, networks, associations, the media and more.
The IWD 2018 theme, #pressforprogress, provides a unified direction to guide and galvanize collective action. Now, more than ever, there's a strong call-to-action to progress gender parity. The theme motivates and unites friends, colleagues and whole communities to think, act and be gender inclusive.
Ramboll joined in the global celebrations with numerous events across the UK. Regional offices gathered together to hear from Marianne Sørensen, Ramboll’s Group Chief Financial Officer, on how she has progressed her career in an historically male dominated industry. This was followed by a group discussion on what progressive actions individuals can take to further drive gender parity which led to personal experiences being shared and many actions and goals identified.
Joyce Brady, Director and lead of Ramboll’s Gender Balance Network said: ‘We are pleased to be celebrating International Women’s Day in Ramboll. Today is about celebration, and capturing the spirit of the strong global momentum striving for gender parity. We have achieved a lot in the past 100 years, however there is more to do, both within the company and within the Construction industry, and we are delighted to be reaching out to our colleagues across the UK offices to engage them in activities that will further improve gender parity.’For more information on International Women's Day click here.
