This was announced during its inaugural Leadership 100 event. According to the Network, the expansion is to reflect the organisation’s growth into new regions and markets in the United States, and its growing role as a leader and advocate for the offshore wind industry.
“The Network does great work in promoting the offshore wind industry in the United States. I am therefore very honoured to join the organisation as a member of the Board and contribute to their dedicated efforts in further advancing the industry of offshore wind”, said Tim.
Tim holds a MSc in wind energy from the Technical University of Denmark and a doctoral degree in aerospace engineering from the University of Stuttgart. At Ramboll, he is responsible for the offshore wind service line that operates from several of Ramboll’s global offices. One of his current focus areas is to coordinate Ramboll’s growth ambitions in the US offshore wind market.
In a recent podcast interview with Offshore Wind Insider, Tim shared his ambitions as a Board Member of the Business Network and discussed the opportunities and challenges for the offshore wind industry in the US. “We [Ramboll] want to support the green transition of society, and business initiatives like the Business Network are engaged platforms that really want to drive the great potential of US offshore wind,” said Tim. “One of the puzzle pieces to make this a success story in the US is to bring knowledge from Europe and other markets. I am surrounded by many engaged colleagues in the Board of Directors and I look forward to supporting that initiative going forward, not only on the East coast but also the West coast, which in my opinion is the next step we should take in the US.”
Liz Burdock, President and CEO of the Network, said,” Leadership 100 gathered the top leaders in the offshore wind industry to discuss challenges and opportunities for growing the US market beyond 19 gigawatts (GW). We are delighted to have Tim join our Board of Directors, as one of four new members. As the Network develops an industry work plan and implements strategic initiatives to stay out in front of this rapidly growing and changing industry, such industry leaders will increase the diversity of the skills and backgrounds on our Board. We thank him for making the additional commitment that will be required to guide the Network as we undertake this important work.”
