British Construction Industry Awards

Chapel Street Bridge Upgrade, Salford. Judges recognised the significantly constrained and very complex nature of the engineering works and the vital part it plays in Network Rail’s £1bn Northern Hub infrastructure upgrade project. They said: "“The designers’ passion for heritage, material and aesthetics made this a stand out project”

Milford-on-Sea Beach Huts. Following a devastating storm, the project included a seafront improvement scheme and new beach huts capable of withstanding a 1:200-year storm. The judges appreciated that the value added to the waterfront of Milford-on-Sea was far beyond just delivering a simple beach hut replacement scheme. Judges’ comment: “A lovely small project delivering multiple benefits through the client’s desire to seize opportunity from necessity”

This is a complex structure, but the judges were impressed with the overall economy of the building, taking into account the need to incorporate existing façades, together with the complexities of the transition between the car park and office levels.

Judges recognised the iconic status of the bridge and the engineering excellence that went into its design and construction. Our 5th spot in the NCE’s Top 100 companies recognised Ramboll as one of the leading engineering consultancies in the UK. This high ranking position tokk into account our Excellence in Transport Award win as well as the shortlisting for Design Innovator and Diversity Champion.

Queensferry Crossing

The Queensferry Crossing sits within a beautiful bridge-scape representing three centuries of bridge innovation. It is the UK’s tallest bridge and the world’s longest three-tower, cable-stayed bridge.

Exemplar development designed to achieve exceptionally low operational energy requirements. The building provides lecture theatres, teaching rooms, offices, dry lab research facilities and support spaces, bringing academics and students from the departments of Medical Education, Biological Sciences and Psychology under one roof for the first time. The University’s brief demanded a building of national significance for its energy performance and the Centre for Medicine was the UK’s largest Passivhaus certified building when completed.

Dalston Works completed

Dalston Works

Dalston Works (previously known as Dalston Lane) is the largest Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) project globally, using more timber than any other scheme in the world by volume.

The Mersey Gateway

It is a new six-lane cable-stayed tolled bridge across the Mersey Estuary between Runcorn and Widnes. The central feature of the significant highway improvements between the M56 and Speke Road.
