Catherine Leaf has over 16 years of experience within the contaminated land and waste sectors and leads Ramboll’s Site Solutions team in Scotland. Catherine supports a range of clients in the redevelopment of brownfield sites, identifying and addressing contamination issues, and designing and implementing measures to manage environmental risks throughout the construction phase – this includes enabling appropriate reuse of demolition and excavation materials.
Catherine also works with a range of clients to deliver effective waste management solutions and is currently applying her experience and technical knowledge to develop a materials management strategy for the decommissioning of three offshore oil and gas platforms on the UK Continental Shelf. Catherine has also held a key role in the design of initial environmental assessments to inform the decommissioning of a subsea oil storage tank on the Danish Continental Shelf. This latter project adds to Catherine’s existing international experience which includes working with colleagues based in our Helsinki and Chicago offices.
Catherine holds a BSc (Hons) in Environmental Pollution Science, is a Chartered Waste Manager via the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management (CIWM), a Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv) via the Society for the Environment and is a full Member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (MIEMA). Catherine is registered as a Qualified Person under the CL:AIRE Definition of Waste: Code of Practice and regularly works with clients to address earthworks and development derived waste issues.
