““I am passionate about the need for engineers to be adaptable and in collaboration with the client and the design/construction teams to create elegant, efficient and thoughtful buildings which limit our impact on resources''.”
Simona Peet is an Associate within the Structures Group of Ramboll in the UK. She joined consulting engineers Gifford (now Ramboll) in 2000 as a graduate engineer, became a Senior Engineer in 2006 and an Associate in 2010.
Simona is a Structural Associate in the Manchester office and has been working on a variety of major new build and refurbishment projects in the education, healthcare, historic, commercial and industrial sectors. She has chosen a career path that involves a wide range of academic experience and has successfully completed a doctorate, as well as building up a varied portfolio of projects in the construction industry. She is also the Ramboll UK HE Sector Leader and over the last 7 years, her focus has been on education through HE, LSC, academies and private funded schools.
She has significant experience in the design and delivery of multi-disciplinary complex projects. During the initial stages; her focus is on defining the structural philosophy to ensure the design is robust, cost-effective and aesthetically pleasing. Simona is committed to finding elegantly simple and thoughtful solutions that can balance all these aspects. She then oversees the design work as the building is taken through detail design to construction and completion.
Simona has a passion for interdisciplinary design and recognises the importance of coordination across all the elements of a project. By using clear communication with no technical jargon, she ensures that the project aspirations and the strategic vision required to successfully deliver the projects are clearly understood by all relevant parties. Her pro-active approach brings together design excellence and efficiency through collaboration, while respecting the design ambitions of each particular project.
Simona is currently working on higher education and commercial projects.
