Andy is a Director for Ramboll, responsible for the preparation of detailed designs and documentation, programming works, allocating resources to tasks and overall Project Management of various schemes.
After joining Ramboll (then Gifford) as a Graduate Engineer in 1987, Andy’s career progressed to Principal engineer in 2005, Associate in 2007 and Director in 2014.
He is responsible for supervision of design engineers and technicians, monitoring resource and programme, preparation of Risk Assessments, and ensuring the design proposals comply with the CDM regulations.
Andy is principally involved in the design, construction, assessment and repair of bridges, and has worked on several major schemes including:
- Dee Crossing, a post tensioned cable stayed bridge in North Wales
- Boyne River Bridge, a steel cable stayed bridge in Ireland
- Tender design of the Rambler Channel Railway Viaduct in Hong Kong, and
- Tender design for the Arklow Bypass River Bridge in Ireland
- Celtic Gateway
- Foryd Harbour Bridge
- Mersey Gateway
- Sealand Rail Bridge
His work on feasibility studies for new schemes includes a replacement for Britannia Bridge in North Wales, and the initial conceptual designs of the different options for the Mersey Gateway Bridge prior to route selection.

Tunbridge Wells Hospital
Construction of the Tunbridge Wells Hospital in Pembury made possible the consolidation of Pembury and Kent & Sussex Hospitals into one single location. Built on the site of Pembury hospital, it includes 512 bedrooms and was the first NHS acute hospital in Britain to have single room wards.
